Used car inspections before you buy
A used car looks its best on the day it's being sold. We look at the parts that don't get polished, then give you a written report with photos.
What a seller won't volunteer
Nobody lists the problems in the ad. Recently cleared fault codes make a dash look clean for a showing. Fresh fluid can hide a slow leak for a few days. A set of cheap new tires can cover up an alignment problem that wore out the last set.
None of that is visible on a test drive around the block. All of it is visible to someone who knows where to look.
Florida adds a risk other states don't have
Storm season leaves a steady supply of water-damaged vehicles behind it, and some of them get cleaned up and resold. A mechanical inspection isn't a flood certificate, and we won't pretend otherwise.
What it does do is look closely at corrosion under the car, at electrical faults that don't add up, and at warning signs that make a history report worth running. Pair the two and you've covered it.
You get it in writing, the same day
About 45 minutes on site. Then a written report with photos of what we found, yours to keep. Fast enough to decide before someone else buys it.
It's also useful at the negotiating table. Documented wear is a number you can take off the asking price, and a photo is harder to argue with than a buyer's opinion.
Private sellers and dealer lots
We'll go to a driveway, an apartment lot or a dealership. You don't need to be there. If a seller won't let an independent mechanic look at the car, treat that as part of the answer.
This is a mechanical inspection. We report on the condition of the car; title and ownership history come from a separate history report.

Pre-purchase inspections, answered
How much is a pre-purchase inspection?
$150 when you book online, $175 otherwise. It takes about 45 minutes and includes a written report with photos.
Do I need to meet you at the car?
No. Plenty of buyers are at work. Tell us where the car is and how to reach the seller, and we'll send you the report.
Can you tell if a car has been in a flood?
Not with certainty — that's not something a mechanical inspection can certify. We'll point out corrosion and electrical oddities that suggest it, and a history report will show a flood title if one was issued.
Do you inspect at dealerships?
Yes, any dealership that will allow it. A dealer refusing an independent inspection is worth knowing before you sign anything.
