Three things that pass for a bad battery
Corroded or loose terminals stop the current getting through, and the car behaves exactly as if the battery were dead. A tired alternator never refills the battery, so it runs down a little every day. And something staying switched on after you lock the car will flatten a perfectly good battery overnight.
Each of those has a different fix, and only one of them is a new battery. That's why we test first.
Why they don't last long here
Parking in open sun through a Tampa summer cooks a battery from the outside while the engine cooks it from underneath. Add a lot of short trips that never fully recharge it, and three years is a fair expectation.

That's the labor, and it's the same for every vehicle. The battery is priced separately depending on what your car takes.
How long should a battery last in Tampa?
About three years is realistic here. Heat shortens battery life noticeably compared with cooler states.
Do you take the old one?
